lyrics

I've got soul (like believers),
Stay cool (like a freezer),
Intuition (like a seer),
Provoke tears (like a leader),
Like a fever, bring the heat,
And chills too (like the reaper),
Got the power (like fear),
But I'm fickle, like a mirror.
Like a sexy little tickle, I'm the nibble on your ear,
But I'm heavy like the chisel driven into something pure.
Probably not the only one, but you could say that I'm a dreamer,
Like I left there, but flip it up-side (down) and I'm right here.

I am the hangman, but I don't see no gallows.
I am death's worst enemy and best friend and scapegoat.
In this escape plan you won't see a hero,
Just a thank you letter and a multiple-choice bubble-sheet for the best possible final last words to use.

So say no prayer to a god.
Only celebrate that you still can walk.
Be thankful, and then stand up,
Cause we've only got life,
But you should have some.
You should have life, but it'll have an end.
And you should have death, but you can only have one.
You should have family, but one that you were born in,
And you should have family, but made up out of friends.
You should have time to accomplish everything that's listed on your fifty things to do while you were still alive,
But you shouldn't mind if it turns out that you're cut short prematurely to having the chance to skydive.
You should have seconds, if you want more,
And you should have a walk. Maybe take a long one on a seashore.
You should have at least one thing to stand for.
Have one, and then remember that it's yours.
Have what you like, there's plenty of it there.
Have a little god, and have a couple prayers.
Have what you like, just remember that it's already there.
What you want is not the game, it is the player.

'Cause I know, and so do you, that we've got so much dying to do.
So let's get on with what we came to get finished and cleaned up,
And you can have your Jesus.
I'm gonna take my soul, and if I can't hold on tight enough than I'm gonna watch it roll back to where it wants to go.
So pick me up, or knock me down,
but greet my melodies with a smile.
'Cause I'm gonna sing everyone this lullaby while I hang.
'Cause we've got so much dying to do,
And I can hang, I know, but can you?
'Cause you'd better be thankful, or nobody's gonna watch you dangle.

'Cause I am the hangman, but I don't see no gallows.
I am death's worst enemy and best friend and scapegoat.
In this escape plan you won't see a hero,
Just a thank you letter and a multiple-choice bubble-sheet for the best possible final last words to use.

So get up and run for heaven.
But don't ask me for death unless you're really completely finished.
And I know that it takes a whole lot of patience...
So while you're waiting you might as well at least say something to make you famous.
Sure, waste one breath, or a hundred words praying, but make sure to save at least a few memorable ones for everyone.
It's everybody headed to the sun together, so don't forget to leave a nipple for the other children.
Say thanks to the noose for the dance, 'cause with no hangman nobody would recognize living.
And isn't that the reason everybody's praying anyway?
They're hoping when they finally dangle that they'll be doing it happily?
I'm in the back-room.
Changing up all the blueprints.
'Cause this escape plan's about to be set into movement.
You better be ready to get your dangle on, baby.
Get your famous last words learned fluent.

Peace,
~The Hangman
